ThriveBox is a student-led business on a mission to truly help university students thrive while caring for our local places and communities. As students and university grads ourselves, we know the joy of receiving love from home that comes in the form of gifts and treats, and also what really makes a difference in succeeding academically and relieving stress when it comes to crunch time.
That's why we created ThriveBox.
Filled with products chosen by students from values-based Canadian businesses, each box also supports students' university experience by uplifting their wellbeing and academic success and connecting them to their campus community and local places. We've packed the treats and everyday items that help elevate student life, plus added in local experiences and insider advice on effective learning and the best of each university.
We've built each box with intention, so that gifting them a ThriveBox means you'll benefit your student now and in the long run.
What's in a ThriveBox?
The contents of the box are revealed online by ambassadors for each school and cover six research-proven ways of wellness: moving more, sleeping soundly, eating well, giving back, connecting with others and being in nature. Products may include food, snacks, health and skin care products, home and decor items, and much more. Students also get exclusive tips on how to thrive academically and as a whole person. We aim to provide over $200 of value in each box for just $135!
ThriveBox delivers love and support to students when they often need it most: before mid-terms and final exams. Four times a year, we host a pop-up event on each campus for students to pick up their seasonal ThriveBox, make new connections, and maybe get a bonus treat!
2026/27 Delivery Schedule
- Fall: early October (mid-term season)
- Winter: mid-November (before final exams)
- Spring: mid-late January (mid-term season)
- Summer: late March (before final exams)
We strive to offer inclusive items and activities that reflect the diversity of our students and local places. The ThriveBox can’t be customized, but some products may have multiple styles. For some seasons, you may also have the opportunity to buy a select number of add-ons for your box.
ThriveBox is currently available for students at 17 Canadian universities. If your school isn't listed, let us know - we're happy to include new campuses when there's demand!
Who We Are
As a purpose-driven enterprise developed by a group of students, alumni and parents, we dedicate a percentage of all profits to support students through programs that fight hunger and food insecurity on campus, grants to facilitate proactive mental and physical health and support leadership development, and by providing scholarships. We are proud to source items sustainably made by Canadian and women-owned businesses wherever we can.
A Nature Positive Future
Like all businesses, ThriveBox depends on and impacts nature. For us, contributing meaningfully to a nature positive future means responsible sourcing, packaging design for circularity, and low emission supply chains. Most of the ingredients in the products we source, along with the experiences we curate and the places our students live, are reliant on healthy ecosystems. We work to strengthen the resilience of the ecosystems that are key to our business by investing in their restoration and conservation.
